The Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening health partnerships in a bid to promote a healthier Kenya.

SUPKEM National Chairman Al-Hajj Hassan Ole Naado led a delegation of senior officials to the National Syndemic Diseases Control Council (NSDCC) for high-level deliberations aimed at enhancing collaboration in addressing syndemic diseases affecting communities across the country.

The SUPKEM delegation was received by Acting Chief Executive Officer Douglas O. Bosire, accompanied by members of his technical team, at the NSDCC offices in Nairobi.

During the meeting, both institutions underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in combating syndemic diseases through coordinated strategies, policy alignment, and community-based interventions.

Discussions focused on strengthening existing partnerships while exploring new avenues for joint action.

Key among the deliberations was the proposal to roll out targeted health initiatives designed to raise awareness and promote preventive measures, with a strong emphasis on addressing the unique health needs of diverse communities.

Leaders highlighted the value of culturally sensitive approaches to ensure maximum impact and community acceptance.

Community engagement emerged as a central pillar of the partnership. The two bodies reiterated the need to involve grassroots leaders, faith-based institutions, and local networks in health campaigns to improve outreach and sustainability.

The two bodies expressed optimism about future collaborations and agreed to hold regular engagements to monitor progress, evaluate outcomes, and refine implementation strategies.

“Together, we can create a healthier future for all Kenyans,” said Al-Hajj Hassan Ole Naado.

He emphasized SUPKEM’s commitment to working closely with national health agencies to improve public health outcomes.

The SUPKEM delegation also included Secretary General Sheikh Abdullahi Salat Omar and Dr. Hussein Iman Sigat.
